Icky Tape are a 3-piece function band based in Surrey/Hampshire with over 200+ gig experience between them over the past few years. They bring the energy and entertainment to any event featuring an array of pop/rock and chart hits from 60s to present day.
"Icky Tape" was born out of originals band "Armstrong" (armstrongbanduk.com) who have taken part in various function events.
Available perform acoustically and electrically.
Meet the Band:
Tom Leadbetter (Vocals/Guitar)
Tom is a Surrey/Hampshire based musician specialising in vocals and guitar from pop/rock to folk.
Having spent the past several years developing his skills as a front man who knows how to entertain a crowd, with the powerful voice to back it up.
Soon to graduate in music production, Tom has great skill in understanding the importance of good sound in an ensemble.
Recently Tom has taken part in solo function events including care homes, pubs and multiple festivals. In addition to this he has spent most of his live experiences in originals band Armstrong where he has developed his powerful vocals.
Ollie Woods (Drums)
Ollie is a Surrey/London based session drummer proficient in genres spanning from pop/rock and funk to big band and musical theatre.
By the age of 19, Ollie had gained experience in the Young Drummer of The Year finals, accomplished the highest level of musical performance as a Fellow of Trinity College London, and accepted a generous scholarship to study at Berklee College of Music. This temporary relocation to Boston, US, allowed him perform alongside Victor Wooten and Kenwood Dennard.
Since returning to the UK, Ollie has performed with established artists including performances in the West End, O2 Academy Islington, Ronnie Scott's, Belfast Cathedral and the London Palladium.
Alongside his freelance work, Ollie started a PhD in Music at the University of Surrey in 2021 with a research focus on metric modulation in contemporary drum practice.
Will Collins (Vocals/Bass/Guitar/Keys)
Will is a Surrey/Hampshire based musician with high levels of gigging experience from sold out London shows, headlining festival stages to jazz, blues pop and rock.
Having graduated from ACM Guildford in music performance (specialising in bass) having been taught by the likes of Sandy Beales and Paul Geary his main talent is bass playing but is equally as proficient in guitar, piano and backing vocals.
High energy in his live performances are accompanied by powerful harmonies which he has perfected over many years of gigging.
